In this episode of Digest This! Dr F Moroni interviews Mr Paul Glen on the use of cytosponge. This innovative technique to detect Barrett’s oesophagus has been implemented in Greater Glasgow and Clyde during the COVID-19 pandemic and Mr Glen shares with us his successful experience.

The Digest This! webinars were born from an original idea of Dr Elaine Robertson, who had the ambitious plan of a readily available, on-the-go, accessible and flexible way of learning that would suit the busy life of doctors. While e-learning has become popular in recent years, expertise and human interaction is crucial in medical education – Digest This! episodes take the form of recorded interviews with expert speakers and allow both flexibility of learning and human interaction.

Each episode of Digest This! is recorded with the assistance of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Medical Illustration team, and can be viewed (or listened to in ‘podcast’ format alone) on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

Whilst initially targeted at Gastroenterology and Hepatology consultants and trainees, we believe Digest This! is of interest to other medical and surgical specialties as well as nurses, AHPs, other doctors in training and medical students.
